Underlining that the best work efficiency will be with a solid body, Specialist Physiotherapist Altan Yalım said:
“Posture and posture issues can make even the most fun jobs sometimes very challenging. Sometimes a simple pillow, sometimes a soft shoe, sometimes simple exercises can keep us away from them. The best work efficiency comes with a solid body.” said.
Expert Physiotherapist Altan Yalım talked about minimizing the effects of posture disorders:
1- The first condition for office workers is to try to optimize the ergonomics of the working environment. Sometimes a slight elevation or a lumbar pillow placed under the screen can protect you from long-term pain.
2- Another precaution that office workers can take is not to be too inactive. A tour in the office every hour or simple stretching movements will relax the muscles and joints.
3- Choosing unsuitable shoes is also one of the factors that trigger posture disorders. Extremely hard or high or narrow shoes can cause problems in the entire spine and hip as well as disrupting the foot anatomy. Choosing suitable, comfortable and useful shoes protects us from these.
4- It may not be so easy to make adjustments in work lines under heavy workload, but still, using simple corsets to support your waist or back, or stretching the load-bearing joints from time to time and simple strength exercises that you will do outside of work will protect you from permanent damage.
5- There are similar difficulties in the transportation sector, which is the most widespread nowadays. Employees who drive large vehicles will also reduce these effects by lumbar pillows, good adjustment of seat height, paying attention to sitting postures in the vehicle, light walks and stretching when getting out of the vehicle.
6- In the group that has to travel excessively in the business world, they are at least as much at risk as office workers. Sitting in the same position for a long time and working in different environments can cause strain on joints, muscles and ligaments. This group can protect themselves outside of work by walking, swimming or doing light exercises in the gym.
