Diagnosing food intolerance
Stating that in food intolerance tests, IgG (immunoglobulin G) type antibody produced by the body against food is investigated. Dr. Iyigun said, “Foods that are found to be intolerant as a result of the test are removed from the diet for a while, so that the immune cells do not forget this allergen food, and then it is added back to the diet at regular intervals and in a controlled manner.
If more than one food intolerance is detected, each food item should be added to the diet one by one after the period of not consuming the prohibited food, which we call the elimination period. Food intolerance is not a permanent condition. Foods with intolerance do not need to be consumed for life. In food allergy tests, the immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibody produced by our body against food is investigated, in food allergies, foods are removed from the diet and are not consumed again.
