In the statement made by the governor’s office, it was stated that the recent acts of terror and intimidation by the PKK and other terrorist organizations operating within the borders of the province adversely affected the social and economic development of the city.
The statement noted that as a result of these actions, citizens were deprived of their right to carry out their economic and social activities and to travel, the following statements were included:
“Our citizens, whose daily lives are adversely affected, suffer great grievances. Our governor’s office, within the framework of the relevant legislation, primarily aims to ensure the safety of life and property of our citizens, maintain the current peace and security, and protect our state and our nation from all kinds of terrorist threats and attacks. He takes every precaution.”
Entering specified areas without permission is prohibited
It is stated that within the scope of the measures, in accordance with the relevant article of the Military Forbidden Zones and Security Zones Law, 11 regions within the borders of the city center and Çukurca, Derecik, Şemdinli and Yüksekova districts were declared “special security zones” from 1 January at 00:00 to 31 December at 23:59. In the statement, it was emphasized that citizens are prohibited from entering the specified areas without permission.
