Livik.net – Huawei Technologies calls on the global information and communication technology industry to cooperate in the development of the next generation of 5G network technology.
Hu Houkun, Huawei’s rotating chairman, recently stated that 5G has provided a sizable improvement in the mobile experience for consumers, and that it has already started to empower various industries around the world.
“Progress is much faster than we expected, especially in terms of customer base, network coverage, and the number of 5G terminals in the market,” said Hu Houkun, as quoted by the Selular team from Gizmochina.
The senior official made the remarks during the Chinese tech giant’s 12th Global Mobile Broadband Forum earlier this week. In particular, the call for cooperation comes after 5G networks have been developing for five years commercially.
As of now, there are currently 176 commercial 5G networks worldwide offering services to more than 500 million subscribers. In addition, the average download speed of the latest generation networks is approximately 10 times faster than 4G networks, which has had a positive impact in various fields.
Then at this time, the enterprise market already has more than 10,000 projects exploring B2B 5G applications. This includes manufacturing, mining and port businesses that have passed trials, which are areas Huawei has recently shifted its focus to.
“Currently more than half of these 10,000 5G to B (5G to business) projects are in China. We already have a lot of use cases, but we need to build a more sustainable business case.” close Hu.
