Facebook’s internal reports published by the Wall Street Journal last week revealed that the negative impact of Instagram on young people was known by the company.
Despite this, Instagram’s work on an application for children under the age of 13 caused public outrage.
Age group specific application
Adam Mosseri, President of Instagram “working with families, experts, decision makers and supervisors to listen to their concerns and demonstrate the value and importance of the project to young adolescents” told.
Expressing that they believe that Instagram, which was bought by Facebook in 2012, has a special platform for children under the age of 13, it would be better for children, Mosseri reminded that companies such as YouTube and TikTok also have special applications for age groups.
