According to the statement of the Turkish Athletics Federation, World Athletics announced the final lists of the Tokyo Olympics, where a total of 2020 athletes will compete, on its website. Turkey ranks 25th among the countries with the highest participation in the world, with 25 participants among 196 countries.
In the list led by the USA with 129 athletes, Germany was in the top three with 87 athletes and Britain with 75 athletes, while the host Japan was 5th behind Italy with 65 athletes.
Providing the second highest participation in athletics in its history, Turkey is the second country among the 21 countries affiliated to the Balkan Athletics Association after Ukraine, which has 43 athletes.
Athletics competitions will begin on July 30
The National Team was ahead of the important countries of athletics such as Finland, Greece, Portugal, Mexico, Sweden and Cuba in the participation list.
