The fishermen who sail in Trabzon, one of the important fishing cities of Turkey, continue to hunt anchovy and horse mackerel in large quantities. Compared to last year, the falling prices after anchovy was caught earlier and in greater quantities made the fishermen and citizens smile.
In the Trabzon Fish Market in Ortahisar district, anchovy and horse mackerel are offered for sale for 10-15 liras per kilogram, haddock for 20 liras, blueberries for 35 liras, and bonito for 25 liras each.
Fisherman Gökmen Aydın told Anadolu Agency (AA) that despite the warm weather and sea water, there is an abundance of fish, and that the citizens are satisfied with the prices.
Stating that a kilogram of horse mackerel was sold for 40-50 liras a month ago, Aydın said, “Now it is sold for 15 liras. Anchovy is 15 liras, bonito is 25-30 liras. Fish comes daily. When the fish is plentiful everywhere, the citizens do not come down here, they buy from those close to their own home. ” said.
Fisherman Yakup Bektaşoğlu stated that anchovies are plentiful and said, “When the weather gets warm, anchovies may escape. Those who will put it in their closet and salt it should do it as soon as possible. They should not wait for the snowfall. Right now, anchovies are plentiful, they will not come tomorrow. They can eat a lot right now. Citizens too. “There is fish for every budget. Trabzon residents miss anchovies.” used the phrases.
Noting that there was an abundance of anchovy on the stalls, Köksal Polat said, “I don’t really remember eating fish like this year. The price drops to 5 liras in the evenings. Anchovy is plentiful, and fish is plentiful. I think the citizens should not complain about fish right now. The stalls are full. I was able to eat fish 3 times. It was expensive, but this year every stall is full of fish. Citizens are very satisfied.” he said.
Müslüm Yyici also stated that they were satisfied with the prices and that they hoped it would continue in this way.
