Mankind told about his feelings, experiences and important sections in his life with the pictures he drew on the cave walls. One of the drawings that is considered to be the ancestor of communication in the history of humanity is the figures in Göbeklitepe. With the symbols they drew on the monuments in Göbeklitepe, our ancestors almost said “we were here” to the emoji users of the future.
Now, just like thousands of years ago, we can express our emotions more easily with symbols and even communicate using only emojis.
According to the researches, it is accepted that the first emoji was used in 1635, when a Slovakian lawyer drew a smiley face emoji in the law file.
When we look at history; It is impossible for us not to see that emojis are a language of communication that has been ingrained in our genes for centuries.
Emojis that have become indispensable in communication; It has even been the subject of brand analysis, sociological research (happy country, depressed city) and academic studies.
As the age became digital, human beings carried the figures they drew to the devices. Emojis have evolved as devices have evolved.
The journey that started with a small drawing progressed until the animated stickers became the subject of conversation.
There’s even an emoji day now.
Happy 17th of July ‘World Emoji Day’.
