Khalil al-Hayye, Deputy Head of the Hamas Political Bureau, made statements to the Al-Aqsa television channel about the construction of Gaza, the dialogue between Jerusalem and Palestinian groups.
“The reconstruction of Gaza needs to be rushed”
Hayye said, “In order for the ceasefire to continue, the reconstruction of Gaza, which was destroyed by the latest Israeli attacks, needs to be done hastily.”
‘Israel must rein in Jewish settlers’
Hayye warned that unless Israel reins in the Jewish settlers in Jerusalem and Aqsa, “lightning will explode in their faces” and said:
“As long as the flag March issue in Israel remains on the table, the ceasefire issue will remain fragile. Those who want to strengthen the ceasefire must resolve these issues immediately.”
“A comprehensive national vision has not yet matured in Cairo”
Regarding the dialogue meetings in Cairo, Hayye said that it is better to postpone the meetings in Cairo as a comprehensive national vision has not yet matured.
Hayye emphasized that their dialogue with Palestinian groups, including the Fatah Movement, has not stopped, and that there is no disconnection with any group.
A Palestinian source, who did not want to reveal his name yesterday, stated that there were differences of opinion among Palestinian groups on the issues of dialogue.
The source stated that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is in an effort to hold bilateral talks with the Hamas Movement, and said that these talks aimed to establish a government of national reconciliation whose primary task would be the reconstruction of Gaza.
The source stated that the Hamas Movement insisted on bringing the file of reform and restructuring of institutions in the Palestine Liberation Movement during the talks in Cairo.
Among the Palestinian groups that went to Cairo, there are delegations from Fatah and Hamas, as well as from the Islamic Jihad Movement.
