According to the news in the Lebanese official agency NNA, a drug operation was carried out in the Saida port under the supervision of the Lebanese Minister of Internal Affairs and Municipalities, Mohammed Fehmi.
In the operation, 4 tons of cannabis was seized in metal crates on a merchant ship sailing from Sidon Port to Alexandria Port in Egypt.
In his press release, Interior Minister Fehmi congratulated the security forces that prevent drug trafficking.
The Lebanese Minister stated that the necessary procedures will be completed to control not only drug trafficking, but all trafficking networks.
Lebanese Internal Security Forces seized approximately 25 tons of marijuana in “the biggest operation in the history of the country” they carried out on April 10, 2020.
Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, decided to stop the imports from Lebanon as of April 25, when drugs were found in containers from Lebanon on April 23.
